lubbyisasuperwoman: Please tell me you have instagram ?
Unfortunately no. My smartphone is dying :(
nicolasdelort: zid! Used to follow you back on LJ (kazesama), glad you're on tumblr! Hope all is well.
Wow, there were some pretty embarrassing stuff on LJ back in those days. I remember you! Tumblr fits the purpose of archiving my work in a “professional manner”, heh. Following you now :D
EDIT: Holy smokes your works now O_O
sangku: Salam Zid. If you don't mind me asking, do you like Inoue Takehiko's works? I mean stuff like Vagabond, apart from Slam Dunk and his other works. haha. Thank you and goodbye :)
Wasalam, no I don’t mind at all. In fact, I grew up with Slam Dunk! Cried manly tears at the very end of the book *shakes fist* Vagabond just blew everything away, really. Seriously. If only I had the time to do our own Silat repertoire in that similar manner, huh? Oh there’s also Buzzer Beater when it was online for a while back in the early days of internet. I still have a looong way to go before I can even be quarter as good as master Inoue Takehiko though T_T
Spazzing aside, yes I LOVE his works to bits! Thank you so much for asking :D
moonhmz: Salaam Zid, could you share some tips on becoming a comic artist?
Waalaikumussalam, Moon.
It’s a very broad topic but I’ll try to keep it concise.
1) Essentially, storytelling is crucial for a comic artist. You’d have to be able to tell stories without textual aid. Imagine playing the role of a director of a silent film.
2) Endurance is also a key factor. You have to “want” to do it because drawing comics is like a commitment to a marathon? You’ll be drawing multiple sequences of probably the same characters for a while so you need passion to fuel your stamina.
It’s a lengthy recipe but these two are foremost in comic-making, at least for me! Oh, drawing well is a plus but we already know that you ace that department :D
kageofspades: Hey I posted that Avatar piece you did in 2007 on my sideblog. Sorry about that homie. I just found it at random honestly, didn't think it would move that quickly. I added credit to you so hopefully it helps. Again my bad, honest mistake, didn't take it directly from you and not credit it. Let me know if you have any problems again. Thanks.
Hey it’s no biggie, really. I am more than happy for the work and most importantly the intention of the piece gets around. Ultimately, as long as it’s not “doctored” to be someone else’s work, I’m all for sharing the fandom with the world (credited or not). Now let’s hope Korra maintains that spirit :)
